  • K Shoes Male Voice Choir: Saturday, May 8th at 8.00 p.m. Tickets may be obtained from members of the Church at a cost of £7.50 (proceeds will go towards Morland Choristers' Camp Bursary Fund)

  • The Licensing Service of our new priest, the Reverend Stewart Fyfe. May 23rd at 6.30 p.m.

  • Morland Summer Fete: Saturday, June 12th in Morland School grounds.

  • ATOM (Alternative Type Of Meeting): On the first Sunday of every odd numbered month, the next is on July 4th, there is a service at 11 a.m. in Morland and Newby Village Hall instead of the Church, which should finish by 12 noon. This allows the children to have a 'messy church' in the supper room and still incorporate them into the main service when needed. This is not a communion service. Drinks are to be served from 10.30 am, and the service is to be followed by a 'bring and share' lunch at 12.00 noon.

  • Morland Choristers' Camp: July 25th to August 1st 2010, which culminates in Evensong in Carlisle Cathedral on the Friday, a concert in or near Penrith on the Saturday evening, Sung Eucharist in St Lawrence Church, Morland on the final Sunday morning and Evensong also in Morland.

  • BackToChurch Sunday: September 26th. We intend to celebrate this with a service. Details will follow.

Events from 2009

  • Morland Flower Festival 2009: This took place from Friday, July 17th to Sunday July 19th and involved members of the whole community. Click here for a report of the event. To see some photographs of the displays, click here.

  • Harvest Festival: This will be on Sunday October 18th. The Revd Carole Marsden will be taking the service, which will be followed by a bring-and-share lunch in the Church. The Harvest Offering will be distributed to the sick or elderly of the Parish.

  • Community Carol Service: Monday, December 14th. Unfortunately this has had to be cancelled as the Bishop and Archdeacon have called a meeting for all six parishes that day.

  • Christingle Service: Sunday, December 20th at 11.00 a.m. For young people with their parents, the service is short and involves candles, christingles, carols, readings and prayers.

  • The Service of Nine Lessons and Carols: Monday, December 21st at 6.30 p.m. This is a more formal service and gives the opportunity for people to sing the more traditional Christmas carols, listen to the traditional readings and perfomances by the Choir, as in the King's College Cambridge service.

  • The Crib Service: Thursday, December 24th at 5.00 p.m. This is a short service taken by the Vicar for children and is based around the crib.

  • Christmas Family Communion: Friday, December 25th at 10.30 a.m. This service is always a mixture of old and new. The vicar often involves the children present in the address.

  • Lent: Two events per week are timetabled, a service every Monday and a discussion group every Wednesday.

  • Holy Week: There will be a service on each day of Holy Week from
Palm Sunday, April 5th to Easter Day, April 12th itself.

  • Ascension Day Service: This will be on Thursday, May 21st at 7.30 p.m. and is for the whole of the Appleby Deanery. It will be a full Communion Service
