Music Group

The Ladies of the Music Group

The music group plays an important part in the life of the church and its worship, and is fortunate to have a committed group of singers and musicians drawn from three of the churches in the Leith Lyvennet group of parishes. The group continues to expand with the recent addition of a drummer and a singer, which now takes the group up to fifteen in all.

The Music Group has regularly and faithfully supported family worship on the first and third Sundays at Morland church and has also take part in a variety of services throughout the year, e.g. at Holy Week & Easter services with Bishop Graham Dow, at Harvest, at the African Service, Christingle and Christmas.

One of the highlights and challenges of the past year for the Music Group was its involvement in providing music for a wedding at Morland church. At the request of the bride and groom a Beatles’ song, ‘All You Need is Love’, was included in the service, which was enhanced by drums & a professional trumpeter.

The group takes a lead role in the new 'Atom' informal meeting which is held every alternate month at the Village Hall

We are pleased to welcome new singers and musicians and pray we will continue to be used in the ongoing mission of the church and as a resource for ‘fresh expressions’.
